Blackjack does count toward BetMGM's New Jersey deposit match, but only at 10 cents on the dollar, so the 15x wagering requirement behaves like 150x if you clear it at the blackjack tables. If you want the $1,000 match, clear it on slots and play blackjack with your own money.
The deposit match comes with a 15x wagering requirement, and the game you play decides how many of your wagered dollars count toward it. BetMGM's terms don't print a 150x figure. They print a weighting table, and blackjack sits at the bottom of the games that count at all. That weighting decides whether the bonus is worth claiming by a player who mostly plays cards.
How 10% weighting turns 15x into 150x
BetMGM NJ's welcome offer terms set the deposit match requirement at "15x the FREEPLAY®", meaning 15 times the bonus amount you receive. The terms then apply a contribution rate to every wager:
- Slots, Jackpot Slots, Scratch Cards: 100%
- Table games, Live Dealer, Video Poker, Craps: 20%
- Blackjack (non-Live Dealer only): 10%
- Baccarat and Roulette: excluded from the deposit match entirely
The contribution rate shrinks the credit you get for each bet. The 15x target stays the same. A $10 hand of standard online blackjack moves you $1 closer. To get $1 of credit you have to wager $10, so the real multiple is 15 divided by 0.10, or 150x. BettingUSA's BetMGM review, last verified October 20, 2026, reaches the same figures: 150x effective for blackjack and 75x for table games and video poker.
Live dealer blackjack works out differently. BetMGM puts it in the 20% "Live Dealer" category, so it clears twice as fast as the computer-dealt version, at an effective 75x.
A $500 bonus, cleared three ways
Say you deposit $500 and BetMGM matches it 100%, giving you a $500 bonus. The requirement is 15 × $500 = $7,500 in credited wagers, and you have 14 days from the qualifying deposit to finish.
| Slots (100%): total wagers needed | $7,500 |
|---|---|
| Slots: average per day over 14 days | about $536 |
| Live dealer blackjack (20%): total wagers needed | $37,500 |
| Live dealer blackjack: average per day | about $2,679 |
| Standard online blackjack (10%): total wagers needed | $75,000 |
| Standard online blackjack: average per day | about $5,357 |
| Baccarat or roulette (0%): total wagers needed | cannot be cleared |
Clearing a $500 bonus at standard blackjack means putting $75,000 through the tables in two weeks. At $25 a hand that's 3,000 hands, or more than 200 a day, every day. Every hand costs you the house edge, and the bonus doesn't get any bigger to make up for it.

Where BetMGM spells it out
BetMGM's live casino promotion terms give the rate in dollars, which leaves less room for misreading: "If I play $125 on Blackjack → Only $12.50 is counted, as Blackjack counts 10%."
Two other sources complicate that tidy picture, and you should know about both.
A stricter reading. CasinoReports' BetMGM review says the live deposit-match promotions credit wagering on "qualifying slots and jackpot slots" only, and that "table games don't contribute toward the 15x wagering requirement in any eligible state." On that reading, blackjack gets 0% credit, not 10%, and every hand you play uses up your 14 days without moving you forward. The official welcome offer page still lists blackjack at 10%. The two sources disagree, and what we have can't settle which one is current. Treat 10% as the best case.
A page that contradicts itself. BetMGM's NJ VIP offer page lists non-live blackjack at 10% in its table, then gives a worked example in which a $125 blackjack wager "is counted, as Blackjack counts 100%." The same page also says its playthrough is "valid only on BetMGM Slots and Jackpot Slots." If you have a personalized VIP offer, don't assume either number. Ask support which one applies to your offer and keep the answer.
Not the same as an excluded game
The 150x figure is a calculated result. BetMGM's terms don't state it anywhere, so you won't find "150x" in them. Look for the 10% line instead.
A low-weighted game is also different from an excluded one. Blackjack at 10% makes slow progress. Baccarat and roulette make none toward the deposit match, though they do count toward the separate $25 FREEPLAY®. Some slots are excluded too: CasinoReports lists more than 70 titles that don't count, including Blood Suckers, Dead or Alive, Monopoly MegaWays and White Rabbit. Switching to slots only works if you pick a slot that counts. The full list is broken down in BetMGM's game weighting rules.
If blackjack is your game
The bonus suits a player who is happy spending the 14 days on slots. If you play only blackjack, it's the wrong offer for you. A 150x effective requirement in two weeks can't realistically be cleared, and on the stricter reading it can't be cleared at all.
Before you deposit, check three things:
- Which rate applies to your offer. Read the contribution table attached to the offer you're actually claiming. Confirm 10% for blackjack, and confirm whether table games count at all.
- How much your deposit needs on slots. Multiply the bonus by 15. If that slot total, divided by 14 days, is more than you would wager anyway, deposit less. The match scales down with the deposit, starting from $10.
- Whether to skip the match. CasinoReports advises playing live dealer and blackjack "with your own money, not bonus funds." A blackjack player can take the $25 FREEPLAY®, which needs only 1x wagering within 7 days, and pass on the deposit match.
Whether the match is worth claiming at all, with the slot route included, is a bigger question than the blackjack one.
